"Little by little, one travels far." -J.R.R. Tolkien

Her lips awoke the sleeping city

One breath across chilled teeth and cogent words

It was then that the city came to life

The fog rolled through the empty streets like crashing waves

And as it reached the end of faded gates the thunder cracked throughout the sky

Both moon and stars peeked from their shroud of clouds

The light of which touched the sleeping people with paused dreams and movement of stiff limbs

Stretched spiderwebs and crushed leaves, the echoed footsteps whisked the dust away

Withered petals shivered to life in the color of radiant moon rays

And shattered streetlamps flickered soft light

The once rusted city now stirred

The once frozen gears now turned

Time passes as night blooms
