Lost Eyes
His small, fragile body lay
His used to loving eyes were
glossy and lost in space
My footsteps made every other noise silent
A spark went off inside me
and His favorite song i began to sing
Something changed within Him
and He too began to sing
The hardness in His eyes I had seen before
disappeared
They retrieved their light
Warm tears slowly trickled

n my face
His lost, frightened, doleful look
began to float away
And for a moment, a simple moment
I caught a glimpse of what He used to be
However, when the music ended
It all went went up in smoke
He reconsigned to oblivion
His kind smile vanished
And all that remained was
His lost eyes

My brother had just gotten very ill; it was the first time I had seen him after he had been taken to Chile for special care. Everyone told me he was not talking, or eating, and he was getting a lot of terrors from the medicine he had been taken.
When I got to the hospital he was huddled in the corner of his room; he looked at the ceiling and just screamed. I began to sing to him and he suddenly snapped out of the hallucinations and he began to sing with me. I everyone cried because like I said he had not been doing ok. But after the song ended he just went back to the corner and tucked his head under his arms crying.
