Natural Pool

The natural pool,
Crowded and seemingly as old as time itself.
The cold, gray, stone slabs make up the stairs,
That are covered in green leafy vines.
The walls crumble and fall apart with age.
A waterfall descends into the pool,
Water pours from the skies,
As if the rocks are crying at the beauty of the scene unfolding below.
A gorgeous jade garden lies above.
Bushes and flowers,
Green, yellow, pink, and white.
The garden protects the pool,
From the evils of the world
Keeping it safe,
And beautiful.
The people here are happy.
The smiles of the people glow.
Their joy floats in the air,
It spins and leaps and laughs along.
They laugh as they jump into the pool,
Deep, dark, blue.
The shadows dance across the walls,
They twist and turn,
In the cavernous space.
This beautiful place,
The natural pool.

In my English class, we had to write poems and submit our favorite one. I don't really like any of mine, I'm just doing this to get credit, but this was the one I could tolerate the most. And who knows, maybe this is a masterpiece and I just haven't realized it yet.
