Me against Her
Her mind is racing.
Her hands are shaking.
Her bones are aching.
Her heart is pounding.
Her thoughts are anxious.
Who is her?
Her is me.
Her is limited.
Her is concerned.
Her is apprehensive.
Her is self conscious.
Her’s thoughts are anxious.
Her is anxious.
Me is opposite.
Me is free.
Me is brave.
Me is outgoing.
Me is confident.
Me is entertaining.
Me is composed.
Me is carefree.
When I say her is me,
I mean unwillingly.
Me is trapped inside of her.
Me is surrounded by walls and walls of anxiety that Her built.
Her keeps me from being who me is supposed to be.
Me is tied down to Her’s anxiety.
Me’s actions are controlled by Her’s thoughts.
Me is in constant battle with Her.
Me wants more than anything to be free from Her.
Because Her is running Me’s life.
But Me won’t give up.
One day Me will win.
One day Me will break free from Her’s anxiety attacks.
One day Me will control Her.
Her will not control Me.
One day Me will fix Her.
Me will help Her.
Me will change her.
One day Me will love Herself.

This poem was inspired by the struggle that I, along with many others face while dealing with anxiety.
