The Ocean of My Life

Life is tumultuous
like the ocean.
Sometimes, staying afloat,
is easy.
Then, the tide
pulls me under.
Instead of floating,
I sink.
Instead of breathing air,
I breathe water.
The cold becomes
my coat,
Then, I choke.
It all becomes too much.
Life takes over,
until I can no longer breathe
without feeling pain.
