Forgiveness
I have done quite a lot in my eighteen years,
Many things which I am not proud of.
But the worst was the instance that brought you to tears,
The moment I made you question my love.
I really acted like a true white knight,
The way that I raised my hand to you.
I suppose that now my only respite,
Is that I still have time to start anew.
I could have done things very differently,
I should have just ignored everything.
I could have acted more gently,
If only I could relive that day in spring.
Even though you have forgiven me,
I don’t think that I deserve your pardon.
I can only make this one guarantee,
That I’ll never again let my heart darken.
