There Are Always Times For Firsts
Running
People don’t call it a sport.
people call us tryhards.
Tryhards about what I ask?
They don’t have an answer
They’re just jealous
they wish they could do what we do
run and run and run
but the pain in our
legs, in our lungs, in our chests… everywhere
leads us to what everyone wants
to the bragging feeling of…
Victory!
Or loss. It’s the dark cold side of the inevitable fate
it makes you feel bad in every way
you don’t care about past things
you feel that you are bad
that you were never good
You may be broken because you didn’t achieve your goal
that you feel dead inside
because you didn’t get that place you wanted
because you didn’t get that time you wished for
but there is always time for firsts
