Summer Days
In the lazy heat of the summer, one day
Two young children, on green grass lay.
Not one worry, they did express
The boy and the girl in the little white dress.
One said to the other, "Let's play a game"
The other responded with happy exclaim.
So they went hand-in-hand, to go explore
Off to find a secret door.
Through the door, they found great lands
With forests and rivers and soft, white sands.
They met tall giants and handsome kings
And flew on the feathers of a great bird's wings.
They had much fun
But then the day was done,
The sun had set down
On their cute, little town.
So they wave good-bye to each new-found friend
As their journey came to its end.
Back through the hidded, wooden, brown door
They would not continue anymore.
Back to their homes on the quiet street
Thinking back to those times, so sweet.
And when they lay down to rest in bed
The happy memories filled their head.

As summer quickly comes, I reflect on my past experiences and how I would spent my summers as a child, often imagining. The children in this peom are going on this great adventure with their imaginations and I think that this is a very large part of my childhood summers.
