Motivation
The clock ticks.
The clock fades from 11:30 am to 11:30 pm in the blink of a T.V. remote.
Important goals set on Friday turn to missed opportunities on Saturday.
The clock is just a facade fooling the average man into time-wasting oblivion.
Why do it now when I have so much time left?
The clock strikes midnight as promising goals are rescheduled.
I am still young, my dreams can wait.
The clock taunts me with its prolonged ticking.
Why mock me when all I do is let you be?
The clock triumphantly points to half past three.
My floor is scattered with half-finished paintings and job applications for work I don’t want.
The clock stops.
What a life is this?
I wake up.
The clock ticks to the increasingly upbeat rhythm in my head.
Taco bell wrappers strewn across the living room meet the wastebasket.
The clock is.... irrelevant.
I have tasks to complete, goals to achieve.
My newfound outlook clears up my fogged ambition as my world brightens around me.
Choosing a meaningful endeavour to fill my hours has never been easier.
I can just relax for now, it is Saturday after all... no! It’s either now or in my deathbed!
The clock sits isolated, unwanted, as my days become exploited for the bettering of my life.
The clock ticks.
