homerun
Homerun
You step into the batter’s box,
Watching as the ball gets closer and closer to you.
Carefully looking to see if it’s a strike,
You swing as hard as you can.
At the crack of the bat,
You take off to first.
Looking at the ball you see it get closer and closer to the fence.
The fans stand up and cheer as you hit your first homerun.
Feeling happy as can be,
Running around the bases with a big smile on your face.
As you get closer to home,
You see your whole team standing there,
Ready to congratulate you.
As you pass over home plate,
You realize it was your fate.
