Momma's Hero
When I was 9 I asked you how to dance,
you said steps.
When I was 11 asked you how to build,
you said nails.
When I was 16 asked you how to love,
you said work.
When I was 18 I asked you if I Had to move out,
You said only if you are ready.
When I was 21 I asked how to get rid of a hangover
you said lots of vitamins.
when I was 30 I asked you to give me away,
you said give me your arm.
When I was 35 I asked how to care for a child,
you said a lot of bravery.
When I was 40 I asked you how you left me alone in this world
and you would have said; I haven’t I have just given you time to answer questions of your own.
