Soul Searching

The pain he caused me
keeps pouring out.
All the happy times
are being buried in darkness.
The tears in my heart
feel as if they will never mend.
I feel like a bird with a broken wing,
or a clock without its tick.
I feel as if my wind pipe is
constricting to the point where
it is impossible to breathe.
My body and heart feel as if
it has been torn into two.
How can I ever begin to heal?
The pain and darkness is all
I have ever known.
