My Own Sins

April 27, 2015

As I stand here,
Cradling my gun,
I stop and wonder;
Why do these Jews
Mutter their silent prayers
Quoting their scripture
Praying to a God
That didn’t save their predecessors?
Don’t they wonder
Why the now-dead
Weren’t saved by their God?
But then I think about my own sins—
It’s my fault
Their predecessors now sleep
Six feet under their brother’s feet.
Sometimes I hope that my own sins
Will be burned along with these fools
Who didn’t run when they should have.
