Just Boys
There was a boy
trapped on his own skin
his body did not belong to him
There was a boy
Young in age
Who felt like his mind was confined in a cage
There was a boy
who didn't play with other boys
Instead decided to play with girls and their toys
There was a boy
His parents took away his doll
And replaced it with a baseball
There was a boy
His favorite color was pink
The kids at school loved to shove his head into the bathroom sink
There was a boy
he was in 10th grade
when he found his first blade
there was a boy
who always wore long sleeves
even when it was 90 degrees
there was a boy
who didn't shave
but always needed new razor blades
there was a boy
his parents started to worry
when they never saw their son and he was always in a hurry
there was a boy
who stopped going out
and everyone started talking about
there was a boy
who never left his bedroom
in school he was always in the back of the classroom
there was a boy
who stopped going to school
people thought he was just trying to be cool
there was a boy
who nobody ever saw
the kids at school call him the weird one who use to draw
there was a boy
who never had a friend to call
and thought he wouldn't be missed at all
there was a boy
who decided to end his own life
That cold November night
There was a boy
who was trapped on his own skin
Until a gun decided to free him
