Memories Forged

memories are but stray reminders
of tricks and lies
found in steady hives
in brains and minutes past in years
a clearer picture it may paint
but the feeling happens to be lost
in the rose fed garden
caught in thorned butterflied
graves
and here in its place
instead of texture, toss, and taste
we find a memory forged
over the feeling
the feeling which now may
lie in the bushes behind the
overgrown morgue
