Hello Seattle
combination of trees and the sea
the focus of the beautiful city
lights that are as steady as the rain
I have nothing to complain
the emerald city is brighter than New York on New Years Eve
steady breeze that rustles the trees throughout the sea port city
This is love
taste of salt on your lips while walking through the morning fog
air as crisp as a Fiji apple
sky grey like earl grey blends with streaks of light
no need for umbrellas because they block the touch of rain
though there’s almost no sun in Seattle, there is warmth
there is warmth in the cups of coffee you drink on Monday mornings
the point of the needle peeking over the skylines
walking down to the market you find fruits and vegetables of every color
the smell of the food brings you back to Saturday night dinners with your family
you don’t feel lonely when you’re walking on the packed sidewalks
the sounds of cars blend together like the sound of beating hearts
you close your eyes and breathe in
this is home
