Beyond Central Park
  The blade of grass
       withstands the force       that
is  being pushed down upon it.
As the sun whispers the last of its warmth, yawning out a rosy sky,
  It wilts,
shutting down. The first signs of the snarling frost
  prowls,  haunches tense.
  The haunting song
  of the wind floats,
echoing.
Wailing to its crescendo.
All is still.
And in the distance, embers
float
across
the
sky.
And I stand on my own two feet
  Drowning
              because
       I
  want
      to.
