Favorite Quote:
"You are imperfect; and you are wired for struggle, but you are worthy of love and belonging."

I am from Clifford cups

Containing bourbon

From Capezio

And Snuggle

I am from art

From pianos to film cameras

I am from the woodchips surrounding tire swings

And bleeding hearts being sewn back together

I am from deserted beaches

And Friday night pizza

From eating disorders

And cancer diagnosis

And depressed gunshots

I'm from Lays chips in hospital waiting rooms

And Luminary bags in the beginning of May

From "Let go and let God."

To "I am motivated and encouraged to take care of my body because it holds my soul, and all of the ability to do and go and help and change and inspire."

I am from 156 Main Street

Where I learned that it's okay to feel lost,

Because there is always someone up there guiding you to new places

I am from the long, sleepless nights waiting for someone to tell me

"What he did to you does not define who you are."

And watching my cousin fight like hell, and win

I am from the "Crash Frazier's"

Where you instantly experience tragedy while just passing through

I am from a canvas full of broken promises that

I painted over little by little to create my own

Masterpiece.

This poem was an assignment for my English class at the beginning of the year so my teacher could get to know us better. I had a lot of fun writing this piece and I hope y'all enjoy it!
