It started off by sneaking into that cabinet
right after dad was institutionalized.
Mom was already off with other guys.
The lack of a role model guided you
to lift that handle.
Grandma preaches you’re dying of thirst
but you’re drowning in the blood of Jesus.
Water is the last thing on your mind
it’s the pacifying poison that cures your cotton mouth.
Memories of you becoming faded
because the Forty everyday keeps your family away.
It ended by you sneaking into that cabinet
One last shot to the head,
forty years old of life became wasted.
