Have You Heard All the Things That Go Bump in the Night?
Have you heard all the things that go bump in the night?
You think someone’s there but there’s nothing.
A shadow shifts and a floorboard creaks;
You can smell and taste the fear in the cold air.
Have you heard all the things that go bump in the night?
You remember a promise that there’s nothing in your closet.
You remember being tucked in and left on your own;
You remember thinking your blanket can protect you.
Have you heard all the things that go bump in the night?
Scary, creepy, spooky, they are.
You can hear them all, carrying and clear;
They’re always there, but now you know.
Have you heard all the things that go bump in the night?
There’s your shuttering window, the drip-drop on your roof.
You toss and turn and try to think;
There are many other things that go bump in the night.
