"How lucky I am to have something that makes saying goodbye so hard." - Winnie the Pooh

We met on a bridge of clouds,
Suspended over the Earth by a lack of reality
And a passion ignited by the hear of the sun,
And nothing more.

We lived our lives in the pleasant warmth,
Surrounded only by the illusion
Of one another,
And no one else.

But our love was under-oxygenated,
Drunk on nitrous oxxide and
Ignorant of gravity's forces,
And a jealous flame much stronger
Than that of the sun.

Like magnets of the same pole,
We repelled and fell back
Connecting with the planet;
Meteors of burning heartbreak.

And suddenly -
There was no sun,
Nothing left to keep spirits warm,
Or paint the delicate fake smile,
Only the bitter ache of loneliness.

It was so cold that my heart
Ran laps to keep blood flowing.
So cold that my tears froze over,
And I had to peel my sorrows off my cheeks.
So cold that it felt
Like I was burning.

Days meant bleak conversations
Filled with constant reminders
Of our life in the sky.

And at night, it would rain -
Acid rain that flooded down
From the clouds
Of our poisonous love.
