My Heart is in the Air
it's always the same story,
she's not the typical girl, typical somewhere else maybe, but not here,
she's scared somewhere deep inside, but her eyes are defiant,
she's like a warrior princess, scars all over, small but powerful,
yet she doesn't believe it,
she believes in love, but not for herself,
she believes that pain and sadness are all she has in her future,
she has the emptiness in her stomach,
the gnawing pain of hunger, the determination of the mind to forget it,
she has the scars on her arms, hidden by her everyday,
not out of shame, but out of hatred for the concern of others,
she has the friends she holds away from her heart for fear of hurt,
who's hurt? she has no idea
she's proud of the scars and the hunger and all the pain she's felt because it means she is alive,
she hopes it will all be over soon, she could never do it by her own hand,
for now, she listens to the music of the world and revels in it, waiting for her time to run out.

Be nothing like me. My life is the worst kind of life for someone to live- smiles and friendliness on the outside and so much pain on the inside. Live your life the way you are meant to.
