Dance of Nyx
Endless is the sea that consumes the stars,
dark as diamond in its unaltered form.
Waves push and pull under the bright orb,
a goddess peering from her balcony in the sky.
Her essence reflects upon the surface,
a mirror stretching to the attic shore.
Smaller lights circle their goddess,
glowing nearly as bright as she.
They dance with her in the waves,
and sleep still among the clouds.
The goddess grows weary,
her children grow dim.
The peace is broken,
the darkness fades,
and all turns to light.

While brainstorming for a topic to write about, I stumbled upon this scene of a Grecian sea at night, the moon and stars reflected upon its surface. I wrote this peom to capture the beauty of that image.
