You and me
We were born just 36 hours apart,
In the same hospital.
We just met,
Two young girls.
Our grandparent’s first grandchildren,
So surprised they were,
To see our beautiful faces.
Then we started to grow,
Our personalities changed.
We went our separate directions,
We rarely saw each other.
Holidays and birthdays,
Our only time together.
Two blossoming teenagers were growing up quickly,
We grew very close together.
We started to get together more often,
We worked together to plan birthday parties.
We work hard in school,
We started looking at colleges.
In four years we will be adults,
College students looking for a degree.
We will go our separate ways,
We will find a career.
These two young girls,
Grew so fast.
We learned from our mistakes,
We were always there for each other.
We helped each other through difficult times,
We learned to laugh and smile.
