Day in, Day out.
Locked behind a fence,
Let out to graze and play.
Like clockwork, we are
fed, groomed, given free
reign for a while every day.

There are those who want more,
those who complain when their coats
are not shiny enough. Then there are
those whose wool is almost non-existent.
Always in factions we are.

Occasionally there is one, or a group
of us who become unruly. We are told
they have been eaten by the wolf, but from where did he come?
How did he get in our yards when they are protected by our large fence?
It matters not; soon this will be eclipsed by the new seasons, the new questions.
The newborn birthed by the healthier will take charge, and lead us.
The most Sociable sheep will be shoved down our throats through every medium possible.

We are who we make ourselves.
Are you one of us, even better...
Who are we?
