porcupine
It was only a porcupine,
Jerry said.
Sometimes it bites, hard and sharp, but it’s a phase,
Jerry said.
Sometimes it cries, loud and shrill, but it’ll stop,
Jerry said.
Sometimes it’s picky about what it eats, just buzz your lips when you feed it,
Jerry said.
Sometimes porcupines smell, just change its diaper,
Jerry said.
I really need to go,
Jerry said.
Jerry left.
This doesn’t really look like a porcupine,
I thought.
More like a baby.
Jerry’s not a good dad.
