spinning chair

When I close my eyes I see
A village, a town, a city.
Sitting in a spinning chair,
I notice little floating lanterns.
I have hope for tomorrow.

When I close my eyes I see
A girl, a boy, a child.
Looking up into their eyes,
I feel small and afraid.
I have hope for tomorrow.

When I close my eyes I see
A place, a time, a person.
Wondering what everything means,
I grow aware of the moonlight,
Of the stars,
Of the sun still present in another place.
I have hope.
