It's Gone Now
It’s gone now
i try to look at it
but it’s gone
instead i see a grave
and the ghost of our pride
before it was beaten and buried
It was like watching a coffin close
the way the field turned in on itself
imprisoning our victories
burying them deep beneath the earth
we thought they were unforgettable
those wins on the battle field
then they stripped our walls of their spirit
a cloudy grey paint to erase their history
like amnesia victims
the walls were left standing
but drained of memory
now they have morphed into robots
by people who insist they have purpose
they had a purpose
but like everything else
it’s gone now

If you have ever had something important taken away from you, you will understand this empty pain. It hurts even more when the thieves try to change what they have taken and give it a b******* purpose.
