It Hurt..

It hurt because it mattered.
It hurt because you said you loved me back,
when you really didn’t.
It hurt.
All that energy that I put in;
was it all for nothing?
It hurt.
It hurt when you broke my heart.
It hurt when you acted like you cared when you didn’t.
It hurt.
It hurt when I spent so much time thinking about you,
when you were never even thinking about me.
You were probably off having the time of your life,
while I was stuck worrying why you weren’t responding.
It hurt.
