A New Journey
The wind hitting my face
The breeze flowing through my straw like hair
I feel free
Nothing else matters
I roll down the car window even further
The wind makes my cheeks flap against my icy face
I open my mouth
The cool wind rushes inside me
I cough a little
I peek my head inside the warm and cozy car
Blood gushes through my head
I need more air
I stick my head back out the window
I spot a leaf floating around
It seems lost and unsure
It comes within reach of my hand
I grab it with the tips of my rosy red fingers
Then I let it go as it brushes against my gentle hand
I watch it glide through the brisk cold air
It goes off into the lush unknown forest
It has found a new home
A new life
A new journey
Just like me
