Understand You
I can say that I hate you
That when my mind is filled with your images
Your sounds,
I want to peel my skin out, and get rid of it
Of you
Or I can say that I love you
They way you touched me
I can feel it almost lingering
On my skin
On my lips
I saw you again
I saw you before you saw me
Your eyes were filled a fire
The kind of eclectic energy I had only seen
On those nights when you would make me feel loved
Not on those mornings that you would leave
Before I woke up
I never told you how alone I felt
When you would be sitting next to me
In the drivers seat, talking about you
Your f***ing ideas, your thoughts
When I had been crying
For days, wishing I had you to give me comfort
Or maybe you knew that
You just couldn’t comprehend the need I had
For you
Because I could never understand
The lack of need you had for anyone
Or anything but most of all
For me.
