Laughter is communicating.
It’s the language of the world,
A baby’s first words,
A sign of appreciation not always heard.

Laughter is reviving.
It’s a heaping spoonful of cough syrup to coat the throat,
A refreshing glass of lemonade after a parched day.
A cannon ball into a pool under the hot summer sun.

Laughter is comforting.
It’s a warm blanket among the cold winds,
A mom’s prepared after school snack,
A pat on the back.

Laughter is lip chapping.
It stabs into the stomach when consumed in excess,
Sews stitches into our quilt of a body,
Strives to form a six pack.
