Ghost Rider
I idolized him.
I would watch the movie over and over again
until my eyes would no longer stay open.
I was mesmerized by his flaming skull.
I even memorized every scene and all his lines, to show how much I loved him.
In my eyes he was a hero,
although there was nothing heroic about him.
I idolized him.
I would watch the movie at my cousins house.
Every weekend
I’d beg my cousin to let me watch it.
Unfortunately he got tired of me asking,
but he would still let me see the movie.
I idolized him.
Now I no longer watch the movie every weekend,
nor do I know every scene
or all his lines because I have no time.
I am no longer mesmerized by his flaming skull,
nor do I think about him everyday,
and I longer see him as a hero.
He is now in my past and
I no longer idolize him.
