Freedom,
You think you deserve it!
What did you do to earn it?!

I look around
And see people disrespecting the flag
The same flag that waves for freedom
The same flag that stands for your rights

These days’ people don’t even take off their hats
In reverence during the Star Spangled Banner
Some don’t even stand for the pledge
Show some respect people

People sure like their free speech
But they sure wouldn’t die for it
Like our forefathers would

Freedom is something people are forgetting
They wake up and live their lives in peace everyday
Less cherish the liberty we have

A realization needs to occur
People need to wake up
Thinking I am free,
Not by their own power
But of the blood spilt on the field of battle
At home and abroad
By ordinary people who decided
Living the “American Dream” was what everyone wanted to do.

They are the ones who took up the challenge
To not only protect freedom
But to ensure that these United States of America will be free for their children and grandchildren.

How long!
Can we go on,
With this mentality
That freedom is deserved
It is earned and paid for.
You need to learn how to show some respect
For the one who gave his life
So you could speak your mind

A day may come
When all forget
What was before,
Who went before us
God forbid that day to come.
