Quinceanera
Quinceanera
Turning Fifteen.
Its kind of a big deal.
Well,
At least to me it is.
In my culture,
I’m able to have a party.
A celebration with family and friends, all making new memories.
I plan for months and months.
All for just one day.
It’s like I sleep, breathe, and eat
Quinceanera.
I worry so much everyday.
Finally,
It’s here.
I wake up early,
Hair, makeup, dress.
I wait for my family and friends.
Then, we’re off.
First church and pictures.
Then the celebration.
Tears from many,
But smiles from more.
Gifts, dances, and food.
It’s the perfect day.
Not one worry at all.
More like the perfect dream,
That came true.
What I call,
Turning Fifteen.
