The Trigger Caused the Pain
He loves that bottle
Thinking it is the only thing that loves him back
Hanging out with friends who love it just as much
They laugh, they joke, they drink
Tipping back the bottle
He decides to spice it up a little bit
He comes back to his group of friends
They fear what he holds in his hand
They wonder why he has it
This guy seems insane to them
He shows them the one bullet
Sliding it into the small revolver
He laughs and spins the cylinder
He puts it to his head
The trigger is pulled with such ease
Not knowing what future lay ahead
The sound was deafening
The room was silenced in an instant
The smell of blood filled the room
Being rushed to a worthless hospital
Being seen by hopeless doctors
Leaving a family that would do anything for him
They wonder if he even thought of them
Or even wondered how they feel
Most learned to live with the loss
Others... still haunted by the memory
Left with the good and the terrifying ones
But always wishing it had only been the good
He pulled the trigger that caused them pain
