Losing Neverland

We were invincible together
As we marched through the tall grass
Like Indians,
Like I was Wendy and he Pan.
He would fly off of his swing and
Pull me along behind him,
Into the clouds.
We were all each other had as kids,
As we swam like we were mermaids,
And we fought like we were pirates,
Subsided to our hallow tree.
As he tried to fly over the lagoon
And he fulfilled his dream to
Never grow up.

Until the fairies lost their extravagance
As they turned back into fireflies,
And tick-tocks were only from clocks
And not crocodiles.
I stopped living for adventure
When I lost him
And I had to return to reality.
Because there is no Neverland
Without Peter Pan.
