I Come From
I come from a place where
The weeds are a regular occurrence where nobody believes in themselves and being a hotshot is more important than having a soul.
I come from a place where
Your heart grows cold because of the abandoned love, the system playing on your last thread, and the world’s designed to be against you.
I come from a mother who
Would never let me fall, who I would give my all to, and take care of her for the rest of her life.
I come from no self-esteem,
Never having any confidence, slowly fading into depression.
I come from a father who
Was never there, almost as if he never cared. Coming to see me? He never dared.
I come from
Hurt in the worst possible ways
I come from
Just trying to get through my days.
I come from
Clearing my beautiful, blue skies
Time to shine let’s go
