A Young Person's Tribute to 9/11
9/11
My heart breaks every time I remember,
The terrifying morning of the 11th of September.
The victims were loved from near and far,
Losses of lives imprint a painful scar.
The burn of that day where innocent people
turned to ash,
Our brave strong heroes fighting in backlash,
Today we stand together as one
In honor of those sisters, brothers, daughters and sons.

As a class assignment I was inspired to write this poem in honor of those who lost their lives on September 11 2001. I worked with
my English teacher to edit the poem and hope that this tribute will have others read it.
