THE GLASS BRIDE
The sunrays shone over the horizon's line,
and reflected upon the brides crystal incline,
her eyes fixed on the hub ub around,
and her heart and body by the crystal bound,
tears on the tips of her eyes had to resign.
Her face covered behind the veil,
to a new place she had to set sail,
where things done right ,were always wrong,
there was no question of how long,
greif of seperation made her frail.
Then at twilight
when the sun disappeared out of sight,
her feelings had no change in them,
as she stood over the gowns hem,
below the chandeliers light.
even when out the moon shone,
she stood there with her thoughts alone,
she had a hope that she could be ,
happy, if she wished to be,
even this optism,left her forlone.
She stood there staring at the sky,
with an expressionless eye,
she didn't know what lay ahead,
it would be a far cry from what had been said,
she didn't know --smile or cry??
She stood there under the moonlight,
even when off were the chandeliers light,
her glassy frame reflecting the rays,
of some lng gone,forgotten days,
And so stood that 'glassy' figure on that 'glassy' night.
