The Woman
She does not think she is beautiful.
She does not think she is smart.
She does not think she is worth it.
No one has ever made her feel worth it.
No one has ever made her feel smart.
No one has ever made her feel beautiful.
Her life is a boxing ring.
Everyday she fights.
Giving up is not an option.
She doesn’t cry.
She does’t tell anyone.
She puts on a happy face.
Her fire burns like a small candle in a sea of darkness.
Her light is as dim as the sun on a cloudy day.
Still she walks on.
Her eyes filled with pain.
Her hands bruised from pushing people away.
No one can know how she hurts.
Through the turmoil and the torture,
She will find joy.
She is determined to find joy.
Her pain makes her stronger.
Her pain makes her understand.
Her pain makes her better.
With all the bruises and the cuts
With the soft sobs of sadness
She will rise above.
She will keep moving forward.
Her fire will burn enveloping the darkness.
Her light will shine extinguishing the storm.
She is beautiful.
She is smart.
She is worth it.
The Woman.
