the mask inside us
Fear
Help me for I cannot see,
the darkness that is in front of me.
  I cannot describe,
the fear that devours me alive.
I don’t know how to relate,
that the soundless music that sedates.
  My consciousness into a lull,
  that continues to dull.
My mind into the fogginess that I see,
for I wish this would not be.
How the paths have been chosen for me,
this is too much at once to foresee.
“Look around” I hear something say,
“you will see something that will portray.”
i slowly turn to see what the voice meant,
I saw the most horrible thing, it was demented.
Just looking at it made me furious with anger,
it angered me to the point where I needed a damper.
The demented creature covered an object,
that seemed to give me a side effect.
It felt as if someone was grabbing my heart and squeezing,
  I actually started wheezing.
I needed to get rid of the beast,
I had only one idea at least.
  So I ran towards it,
It seemed to have a fit.
Once I got within arms reach of it, it cowered,
then I learned I am the one who is in power.
Then I did the only thing I could do, I hugged it,
It burst into many big chunks that split.
Then I found out what it was guarding,
I found out it was the one thing I was disregarding.
My own beating yet bleeding, broken heart.

I hope that people learn it is o.k. to let your feelings out and not to twist and distort the truth just to make someone else feel better.
