Poetry is The Place I Go
Who am I?
I am a father's daughter
I am a road runner
I am an Oreo, and a short one at that
Some may refer to me as "the girl of no words"
For, put me in a room filled with familiar bodies and faces...
I am speechless...
As if I'm under some sort of trance
Who am I?
Oh I wish you could see
I hide behind shy tears
And frown at the reflection in the mirrors
"The girl of no words"
Have you ever stopped to ponder why she never utters a word?
Keep your head up high
Fake a smile, and pass by
I suppose that's starting to fade
For the ones I call friends are starting to discover and invade
The thoughts are meant to be silenced
I write them down and they should not be spoken..
At least not now
Poetry is the place I go
When I make an "oops" and sigh "oh"
