Turned my world upside down
The sun didn’t seem quite so bright
The night darker than ever.
Those spoken words wrapped my throat with an iron fist
They squeezed air out, pushed toxic in.
I no longer held blossoms within my lungs
Beauty could not survive twisted thorns.
