A Time

There was a time, perhaps, when he really did love me,
At least that's all I have to believe.
A time where we were all we had,
We didnt need anything else,
And I really can't be mad,
We tried, we really tried,
And maybe I wasn't the only one who cried.
All I know is that I got hurt,
That's how love works.
Perhaps I will try this love thing again
One day
But until then
I am my own knight in shining armor
