Paint
September 8, 2014
The newly taut canvas
awaits the next brush stroke
to slide across its fabric
that will forever change
its meaning and perception
a finished piece
hangs against a cold wall
many come and stare
intensely pondering
trying to decipher a code
the canvas is no longer
recognizable underneath
a myriad of colors
it carries more
than just paint
it tells a wordless story

I was inspired to write about the piece of an artwork that is never thought of while I was in an art-supply store surrounded by blank canvases. Without something to paint on, there would be nothing.
