Did you want to see me broken?
lowered head and tearful eyes?
my hope unspoken
faith shattered with my cries

does my sass drive you to hate?
manipulation to greed?
your soul is not made of gold plate
and your hair of cane reed

do you like to smell the air?
do you like to watch the tide?
did you say your prayer
as the pacific cried

did you come to see smile?
or to kiss me goodbye?
is it my old style
i hear the hue and cry

i smell the salt in the ocean
with dark and despair
everything is in slow motion
like a puff of air

what will it take to be free?
maybe we should die young?
as i watch the willow tree
corruption of the devil's tongue

with you its Cinematic
like a 50's song
its problematic
now run along
