Humanity
Was I so convinced that things would be different.
My tattered body was casted aside, mangled with dirt and blood .
I looked into your eyes as you held out your hand.
I flinched, and then hesitantly held out my hand.
You looked so innocent, vibrant with life.
Why were you in this decadent alleyway, humoring yourself with me?
You brushed off the muck, smiled at me, whispered something into my ear, then walked away.
I didn't bother chasing you. You still had that flare that all too many lost. You still had that flare that I always seemed to put out.
You were gone as fast as you came. That bittersweet moment is something I'll never forget. That longing for you.
You reminded me something.
No matter what happens in this world, there will be good people, bad people, people you trust, people who hurt you, but in the end..
I'm human too.
