living fern

there was a cave
cold and damp
a plant spore floated down
alone like a tramp
it lived in the cave
and grew mighty big
never saw sunlight
but this fern lived
year after season
season after year
then the roof caved in
and sunlight hit
the fern shrunk back
and cowered within
if you go and look down
you will see life long ago
and that is how this ferns
story was told
