Another Fruit Analogy
really,
were all just self-aware fruits
spending entire lives combating age
maintaining ourselves
growing sweeter,
wiser,
rounder
transcending the boundaries of our niches
deciding that our entire lives will be our prime
never peaking, never faltering
never letting life be a burden.
others grow bitter, dispassionate, anxious
they dig their tombs,
they pave the way for the brave of heart
to overcome them -
settling for “useful” and “average”
rather than “awe-inspiring” or “life-changing”
never give yourself an expiration date
and let yourself rot
when you could choose
to ripen and flourish
you wonderful fruit, you
